West Kootenay Ladies Shooting Group

 When I first learned about this group I had never shot or even held a gun before. It was something I had thought about trying, as I grew up around hunting rifles in my grandparents' home. I like to try new things and meet new people so I thought why not give it a try. The fact that it was for women and taught by woman made it easy for me to take the leap and "give it a shot" lol. Amber and the whole team have been so supportive, patient and kind. Turns out I have a good shot and since joining the group I have successfully completed my PAL training. I look forward to meeting and getting together with everyone as often as I can. It is such a fun activity, and even on a day when I don't do so well, I still enjoy the time spent with these wonderful ladies. The shoots are always safe and always fun! Amber keeps it interesting with competitions and different types of targets. We even played a game of battleship! One of the best parts is trying a variety of guns, we get a lot of opportunity to try out guns of all types. Many of the members share their equipment with those that don't have; it really is a great group to be a part of and I am so proud to be a member. I appreciate Amber and her team for all they do. Not only have I learned a new skill, but best of all made some new friends too!

 How truly lucky are we to have WKLSG! Amber is an amazing teacher. I was nervous at first and had never held a gun before. Once I was there I felt totally comfortable and what an amazing experience! Every shoot I have been out to has been so much fun, and everyone you meet is very kind, helpful and supportive. It's my "me" time and I'm so grateful to be a part of WKLSG. It has helped me build confidence in so many ways. Thank you, Amber, for making this all possible!

 I am new to this group, have followed it on facetime for almost a year, and have gone on one shoot with the ladies. Amberlynn Berukoff as leader of this wonderful group of ladies impresses me with her knowledge, self assurance, confidence and ability to bring out these ladies to share in these attributes. The shoot I went to, one gal had never shot before, she was treated with respect and encouraged every step of the way. All the ladies were regardless of experience. These women support each other, encourage one another and the opportunity to shoot with all ladies was a comfortable feeling. I look forward to becoming more involved with the group and all the activities that are offered. I am a senior that likes being outdoors and this is another reason to be. Thank you ladies!

 WKLSG is a great place to meet like minded women from all around the Kootenays. Being a mother of three, there are not many places I go without my children. So, WKLSG is that place that's just for me, mommy time. Everyone is so wonderful, helpful, and it's always a great time. Very proud to be apart of such a wonderful organization.

 I just want to send out a huge thank you to Canada First Ammo. They donated 20 of the CFSC books so that we can still keep our cost as low as possible for the PAL/RPAL courses. Ours started falling apart after numerous use so they stepped up to the plate and helped us out. Please thank them by giving them a like on Instagram or Facebook and sending them a thank you on behalf of our group.  West Kootenay Ladies Shooting Group......Wow!!! Since August this year my daughter and I have been part of this group. I was very nervous about going out, but AmberLynn Berukoff, all the ladies, kids, and some men put you right at ease, making it such a great experience. Every member is welcoming, accepting and helpful whether a seasoned pro or never picked up a gun in your life. Safety 1st and always...along with jokes, laughing, kindness and generosity make this a "good for the soul" choice. We have brought two people with us who are hooked as well...with 4 more waiting for the next event to be posted. Giving back to the community and the wide variety of families and businesses these ladies (men and kids too) help out continues to inspire me. Come on out and join us...If you don't already enjoy shooting or bows...you will soon!!!!

 West Kootenay Ladies Shooting Group This group isn't just an amazing group of ladies, we're a FAMILY!! I have felt welcome since the beginning and now that I'm having some health issues....they've all joined together to help hold me up. Some of these ladies have helped me and they have only met me once. Always professional, non-judgmental and so incredibly kind and giving....EVERYONE is welcome with open arms!! I've learned so many things and had so much fun doing it!!

 I was very nervous and shy going to my first event, Gowns and Guns. An event where I knew nobody except my one friend I showed up with. The moment we showed up we were welcomed with smiles and introductions. I left the event already excited for the next one. Inclusive group and extremely knowledgeable. I was very comfortable learning about firearms I had never seen or fired. I drove from Kimberly, B.C. for the event and would do it again in a heartbeat.

 Today was amazing. I haven't shot a gun in like 30 years and I hit my paper 44/45 times granted I only got 19 of the targets but that doesn't matter haha. Thank you for the amazing day and lunch, that was a nice surprise. Can't wait to come back. The Galentines 2023 (February 5, 2023) was my first ever event.

 I've been shooting for several years now, but never gone to a shoot as I've always been too nervous or scared. I went to the Galentines 2023 shoot with a friend and we had so much fun! The ladies were amazing, it was a friendly and fun environment. We will definitely be back for more shoots!

The gals that do most of the organizing behind the scenes always have time to make sure the shooting experience is the safest, highly informational and making sure the shoots are FUN too! I recently did my PAL and passed with confidence because of all the amazing things I've learned!! I also made it through cancer and this group of ladies had my back throughout it all!!!  I started shooting with this ladies group as an amateur shooter about 2-3 years ago. Although I still consider myself a hobby/amateur shooter, I've gained much confidence & proper safety practices with handling firearms from the amazing coaches in this group. Events put on are always so fun, so thoughtfully orchestrated & affordable for all. If it wasn't for this group, I'm not sure where I could've gone to gain the proper practice I now have to have picked up this new & exciting hobby & skill! Thank you to all the wonderful ladies at the shoot group for all their time & support!
